Jim Goldstein is an independent photographer with a focus on outdoor and nature photography.

Having grown up on the west coast of the United States from Anchorage, Alaska to Los Angeles, California Jim has acquired a deep appreciation for the grandeur of nature. Frequent outings, as a child, in the wilderness of Alaska were of great influence instilling a lasting respect for nature. Ever interested in the outdoors Jim has been fortunate to have the opportunity to later live in Southern, Central and Northern California.

Extending his interest in nature Jim studied Microbiology and Genetics at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Pursuing studies and research in landscapes unseen by the naked eye he later caught the photography bug upon moving to San Francisco to pursue a career in web marketing and web strategy.

Honing his photographic skills in the scenic San Francisco Bay area Jim embraced slide film photography and later digital photography. Active in the local photography community Jim has been an honorary member of the Photochrome Camera Club of San Francicso since 2000, was previously club president in 2005 and frequently judges slide, print and digital photo competitions.

A member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) since 2007 and contributing photographer to Danita Delimont Stock Photography, Ambient Images, Digital Railroad and Acclaim Images. Jim produces the highest quality photography for both commercial clients and fine art photography collectors. Jim's photography has been featured in the Washington Post, Sierra Club, Future Snowboarding magazine, Surfmag.com, SFGate.com, and a variety of other publications. In addition many of his photographs have been honored with awards and accolaids in the Environmental Photography Invitational and Outdoor Photographer magazine.
