This photo was taken from the Tunnel View lookout, but unlike many of the traditional wide angle views of Yosemite valley I opted for a super-telephoto lens at a focal length of 1200mm (600mm+2x TC). I was very lucky on this evening, not only was their rich red light on Half Dome as the last light of the day filtered through the atmosphere, but low lying clouds were wafting through as well. The clouds seem to create a veil around this often photographed landmark.

Note: A more traditional view of the valley can be
seen in my “Yosemite Sunset Breaking Light” photo.
