Last night I watched the first two episodes of “Planet Earth” mini-series on the Discovery Channel and was quite impressed with the quality of the programs subject material, writing and cinematography. I’ve seen plenty of nature programs and this is definitely living up to the hype. What’s equally impressive is the supporting material and stories at the end of each program and on the Discovery

This was the view of Chicago’s skyline as seen through Cloud Gate (AKA the Bean), an often photographed sculpture, in Millenium Park. The beautiful weather lasted only 3-4 hours on this morning and then it turned stormy. The next day the snow and rain closed down Chicago’s O’Hare airport and wreaked havoc with the schedule of thousands of business travelers. Such is life in the big city. [tags]Chica
