One of my fondest memories after hiking through 30 miles of the Pacific Coast Trail through Crater Lake National Park was emerging to see this view. So calm and so serene this sunrise view is one of my personal favorites.

Definetely a place on my list to go. So is Tahoe. But I’ve heard that Tahoe’s water isn’t as blue anymore. btw, you see Art Wolfe’s show tonight? He photographed flamingos in a red lake in Bolivia. Crazy.

Richard sadly the show wasn’t aired here in San Francisco :( My friend told me about its scheduled airing on KCET, but it took me a while to remember that is the LA PBS station. Hopefully my friend had satellite and recorded it. I’m pretty certain the show airs here in June.

As for how blue Tahoe is… it is still might blue, but I haven’t been for a prolonged stay in years. Crater Lake is incredibly impressive. You should definitely make it up there to photograph.
