Landscape, Nature And Travel Photography

Photography By Jim M. Goldstein

Quotes of Note: Robert Capa

“If your pictures aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.”
- Robert Capa

Although Capa was a war photographer his up close and personal philosophy has become the mantra of photographers in a variety of genres from photojournalism to landscape. Are you getting close enough to your subject?

So that’s who said that. I’d heard that before but never knew where it came from.

I’ve heard it often as well, without knowing the source.

I wonder if he’s also responsible for the invention of macro photography… :P

I had a photo teacher in college that had 3 rules for photography.

    1) Do you REALLY want a picture of this?
    2) Are you close enough?
    3) Is my camera going to work?

I really like your site Jim, the set-up is awesome…and really quite nice to check out.
