CD Turns 25: What Was Your First CD?

A little off topic to the normal photography discussion in time it will relate. Nostalgia wise it’s always interesting to think back what you first did when new technology became affordable. At some point with the right anniversary I imagine the question will turn to what was your first digital photo, but for now… what was your first CD purchased?

Mine was “BOI-NGO” and “Boingo Alive” by Oingo Boingo

Hard to believe its been 25 years.

My dad bought a cd player when it first came out, along with the Carpenters Greatest Hits and probably Whitney Houston’s first cd.

I can’t remember my first CD but when my parents bought one their first discs were Dire Straits Brothers In Arms and Meat Loaf’s Hits Out Of Hell (best of).

I have those same CDs although they don’t get the play time they should. Certainly Brothers In Arms!

I purchased Peter Gabriel’s ‘So’ and U2 ‘The Joshua Tree’ the same day.

Well it would seem no one is admitting to anything too embarrassing :) Then again in the very beginning there weren’t that many CDs to choose from. Fortunately no one replied with “Tiffany” or “The Backstreet Boys”
