The Blue Angels are once again in San Francisco and performing at Fleet Week 2007. I always enjoy photographing the Blue Angels as its a real challenge. If you’re in the San Francisco bay area the Blue Angels will be performing at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Wow, those shots are insane! What are you shooting with to get so close? And how the heck did you get that last shot? It looks like you were flying side-by-side with him.

Brian I have several more that are on par with these. I’ll be posting them in the coming days. As for the perspective of the last photo… it’s all about position and knowing their flight path. :) The effect of looking like I’m flying next to the plane is amplified by the clouds in the background. If only I could get a ride in one :)

Aside from the variable of timing, weather is always a factor as is air quality. This weekend has been perfect for photographing the Blue Angels. [...]

Sherri… Thanks! You are correct a good amount of planning went into the shoots on Fri, Sat. and Sunday. Previous scouting helped lay the groundwork for each day of the event.
