Landscape, Nature And Travel Photography

Photography By Jim M. Goldstein

Golden Surf, San Francisco

A sunset view of waves crashing along the coast here in San Francisco. The lighting was quite nice on this particular evening and the back-lighting on the waves caught my interest. Although not the jaw dropping image that my Mavericks surf photos might elicit, I still think this is as equally an interesting subject. Sometimes the simplest things we look past make the most interesting nature photos.

I like the spotlight and slow shutter speed effect, Jim.

Hi Jim:

I missed this one on Flickr (or perhaps it isn’t there yet) so I thought I’d comment here.

I like this photo – there is perhaps more to it than immediately meets the eye. Obviously, the translucent, backlit wave at the upper right is an interesting subject. I’m interested not just in its quality, but also in its placement in the frame. I also like the light on the surface of the water in front of this part of the wave – reflecting the light that has previously passed through the wave. Pretty cool.

Take care,

Dan
