Swiss Cows in the Countryside

Not isolated to the Zermatt mountains I made new friends and contacts all across Switzerland. Near Gstaad I had a fun encounter with these inquisitive cows enjoying the autumn sun in their meadow. Smiling wasn’t an option. Perhaps I shouldn’t have asked them to say fromage.

This is priceless. The fisheye perspective and close-up really works great, you can almost feel that tongue touching you :-)

Thanks everyone for the great comments. Glad to see this struck a nerve. The cows I photographed on this trip had a lot of personality to them. Surprising a bovine could have personality.

@Lane Indeed I made good use of the fisheye lens :)
    -
@Jan just wait for some of the others. This isn’t the only tongue photo

@Courtney as previously mentioned this was taken with a fisheye lens. Fisheye lenses have a very short minimum focal distance. The closer the lens to the subject the greater the distortion.

@Rebecca no spit, but it was close LOL

@Geir Cows can equal photographic comedy. Their big head can be comically captured so easily.

@Jollence same… I had a blast working with it. Thanks for the comment.
