Hey, I’ve got my eye on this ( http://www.borrowlenses.com/product/nikon_wide_angle/Nikon_AF_12-24mm_f4G_AF-S_DX ) Nikon wide-angle lens. I also blogged about this give-away here: http://abrahamneben.com/blog/2009/03/rent-expensive-lenses—-great-for-the-occasional-photographer.html .

Hi Jim, I’ve been itching to get my hands on the 200 f/2 to test out for a week. That would be my #1 choice among the current line up of great glass at borrowlenses.com. Thanks!!
[Reply]
Thanks for running this contest! I would love to try out the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR DiII for Nikon. *crosses fingers*

Hi Jim,
After participating in the Boston Photoshop World Photowalk in Boston organized by Jeff Revell and seeing all the different lenses used by Nikon Users. The one lens I have been I have been wanting to test out is the 17-55mm f2.8 lens. I would love to see how the quality and sharpness are compared to my third party lenses.

I’d like to try one of the Nikon fisheye lenses. Always wanted to play around with them but not willing to shell out $700+ to own it. Saw this contest via twitter (@barneson is me). Good luck to me!
[Reply]
What a great contest! I’d love to try the Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR, just because it gets such great reviews, but is pricey. Playing with one for a few days would be invaluable.
[Reply]
The Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR AF-S is a lens I’m currently saving for. Would be nice to play with it before spending this amount of money!
And yes, I also twittered about it: @heymo
[Reply]
My choice is the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR AF-S. Thanks!
[Reply]
Canon 70-200 F2.8 – it’s on my ‘wish’ list for it’s spec – I would love to try one to really play.
[Reply]
Oh, so many choices… I might go for the Nikon 10.5 Fisheye to play with for a week.
[Reply]
I’ve been thinking about buying the Nikon TC-17E II 1.7X Teleconverter so I’d like the opportunity to try it with my long glass to see if I like it more than my 14E.
[Reply]
Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8 VR! Twittered it. Twitter: “WilliamBrown”. Thx Jim!

Soon-to-be-released Canon 17mm TS-E (You can’t see it, but I’m drooling…)

The Canon 24-70 f/2.8….it’s the one lens I never got.
[Reply]
I would love to try out the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens…I have recently become addicted to macro photography!
[Reply]
I would borrow Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 and go shoot the waves on the coast to practice wave panning.
[Reply]
I would love to try out the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II. Why? First, it would be totally cool to play with such a narrow DoF. What can I say…I love the idea of a single eyelash being in focus… Everyone says it is the perfect portrait lens and I would love to see that for myself.
[Reply]
I would like to borrow the Canon 70-200mm f4 IS. This is a lens that I am debating whether or not to buy. The alternatives would be 70-200 f4 non-IS or the 100-400mm IS.
[Reply]
I tweeted this page too so I get an extra raffle ticket.
[Reply]
I would like to try out the Sigma 8mm f/3.5 EX DG Fisheye for Canon. I’ve never taken photos with a fisheye, and am interested in seeing how it works with my crop sensor 40D. But then there are about 25 other lenses that look like they would be fun to try out…
[Reply]
I’m love to try on of those Canon 70-200 f/2.8 before I spend the money to buy one…. FYI, your got a great blog going. Keep up the great work.
[Reply]
I’d love to get the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, I don’t have a wide angle lens and I would love to try it out.
[Reply]
Oh yeah! I have my eyes on this one here http://www.borrowlenses.com/product/nikon_telephoto/Sigma_50-500mm_f4-6.3_for_Nikon

Thanks for the competition, Jim (and thanks to the folks at Borrow Lenses for donating the prize). I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR AF-S (http://www.borrowlenses.com/product/nikon_telephoto/Nikon_70-200_f2.8_VR) and would love to have one to play with for a whole weekend rather than the 10 or 15 minutes I would have in the camera store.

I’ve been wanting to work with a good macro lens for a while, it’s a little late for the spring wildflowers here in the desert, but maybe I’ll get lucky.
So, with my lack of experience with macro lenses, maybe the Canon EF 100mm macro would be a good start.

I’m in! Here is my link to this post: http://blog.justinkorn.com/index.php/2009/03/get-your-chance-to-win-a-free-lens-rental/
As I mention in my post, I’m most interested in trying out the Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS.
[Reply]
Hey Jim,
For me I think it would have to be the Canon 24-70 2.8. Would love to try that out.
[Reply]
Good idea. Looks like a cheap way to test out lenses.
I’m interested in the Nikon 105mm f/2.8 Micro AF-S VR.
[Reply]
Sounds like fun! I would probably try one of the super telephoto lenses, since I am unlikely to ever purchase one, but it would be fun to play with. Probably the Canon 400 f/2.8L or the 100-400 f/4.5.
[Reply]
I didn’t even have to think for this one. Without a doubt, I would rent the Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 AF DX Fisheye. I’ve been drooling over that lens for a while now, and I’d love to get my hands on it for a little while.
[Reply]
Great contest! I was actually drooling over the thought of having this one just last night :: http://www.borrowlenses.com/product/canon_super_tele/Canon_500mm_f4_L_IS
Thanks for the contest!
[Reply]
Thanks for this contest. I would have trouble deciding between a Nikon 105mm micro or a 300mm f/2.8. I would probably go for the 300mm f/2.8 since its doubtful I will be getting one of those for a few more years.
[Reply]
Jim, superteles aside, I’ve been eyeing the Canon 200mm f2 IS for quite some time as indoor wedding glass, and would love to take her for a spin.
Thanks for doing this raffle!
[Reply]
I’d go for the Canon 100-400mm if I won. I’ve been looking at that lens for a long time but have had the $$$.
[Reply]
I’d go for the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 in a heartbeat. When Canon shooters are using a Nikon lens (w/ adapter of course), it must be good! Tweeted it in my Twitter feed!
[Reply]
Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 VR. Great idea! I’ve never rented a lens before. Makes perfect sense! They have great prices – I will keep them in mind for my next trip.
[Reply]
A Canon 70-200 F2.8, I have an f4 and everything I read says that the 2.8 is far superior! It was a lot more $ and heavier so I went with the f4 but we also photograph weddings and I think that the extra light would be good.
I would also love to try out a fisheye or wide angle like the 15mm. I’d love to see a comparison of the 14 versus 15mm. I willc ertainly keep them in mind for our nxt trip because my husband and I both shoot and I have a 500mm so we’d love to have another 500 or even a 400mm to rent the next trip.

Canon EF 50mm f1.2/L. Yum, yum.

Jim,
Great contest. I’ve got a roadtrip through Yellowstone and western Montana planned for later this year. Renting a Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS is already on my list so winning a free week would be ideal.
Thanks,
Alex

Jim,
Thanx for the contest, I have been looking at purchasing a Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S and this would be a great opportunity to try it out first.

I really would love to get use of Canon’s 100-400IS lens…. I have been dying to try this lens before I scrouge up the $$$ to buy it…. I have a flickr stream – flickr.com/photos/rcksmll
Thank you for this chance – I am planning a trip to the Smoky Mountains at the end of April, so a chance to get use of this lens would be a dream come true….

Great contest and blog. I’d love to take a crack at the canon 70-200f2.8is http://www.borrowlenses.com/product/canon_telephoto/Canon_70-200mm_f2.8_IS. It’s a lens that is on my list to purchase at some point but the budget just isn’t there yet.

Sweetness. I’d like to try out the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM. I need to be more bold and get closer to my subjects. Of course, I’ll be ready to run before they take a swing at me.

I have looked at BorrowLenses.com several times in the last year — I really want to “try before I buy” I would love to check out any of the L series lenses, particularly a nice zoom lens.

What a great contest! I think I’d like to give the Nikon 85mm/1.4 a go. That would be awesome! I like the idea of a prime lens and using your feet and thinking about the shot rather than just zooming in and out. Thank you!

Great contest. Thanks for doing this. I would like to work with the Nikon 45mm f/2.8D PC-E ED. The mind melts thinking about the creative possibilities.

Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II
Thanks!

Whoa, tough call! I’d like to try the 100mm 2.8 Macro or the 24mm TS-E…. I think it’d be the TS-E since landscape is my favorite type of shooting. I want to see how the 24mm TS-E works with my 5D2.
[Reply]
I think I’d be interested in the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II. I’d want to test the waters in wide-angle photography. ;D

Why, the Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8 of course… I really need to try that lens out, see what the big deal is about those lenses
[Reply]
Hey Jim, this is awesome. I can say this is a great service and in fact I have my eyes fixed on 80% of the lenses and a ton of other things as well, but for not if I were to narrow the gap at all i would have to choose the Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED VR or the Nikon 600mm f/4G ED AF-S VR in any case I would be happy to try most anything. I think this summer I will be renting and borrowing quite a few things, just to see how they fit my system and my style of shooting.

Grindstone Island sits in the St. Lawrence river about 15-20 miles north-east of the mouth of Lake Ontario. I spent my childhood vacations at a little cottage there.
Sadly, its been a few years since I’ve made it to the river. Busy at work, fuel prices, etc all conspired against me to keep me away.
This year, however, I’m intent on making it to the 1000 Islands come hell or high water!
I’m contemplating heading to the river with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS from BorrowLenses. Lake-liners, bald eagles, wind-battered trees, castles, beautiful granite (and much more) would provide an endless array of things for me to point that big ol’ lens at!
In addition, my family will be getting together for a reunion so having this lens would be great for doing some portraits. (though my family is so huge, I’ll probably be using my Sigma 10-20 for the group shots!)
Jim, thanks for the chance to win the week’s rental!

Jim,
I really enjoy your blog! The pictures, are fantastic, of course, but it is the commentary that keeps me reading the RSS feed. I first started following your blog for inspiration for blog ideas involving copyright and trademark. Because I have a love for photography, I plan on working in some posts more related to photography. If you or your readers have any ideas, please let me know through the blog: http://iplitigator.huschblackwell.com. Oh, and I would love to try the Canon 16-35 f/2.8 L II!

I’ve got my eye on the Nikon 105 or 135 2.0. Oh the sweetest that would be that lens!

Jim,
Thanks for letting us know about this. I’ve been looking at getting a macro lens and thinking about renting one to try out. Even if I don’t win, I’m renting a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro to see how I like it.

I found your sight through another friend’s blog. Do you have any macro lenses for the Nikon? We are doing Make a Wish with my son in May and we are going to Disney World. I might be back to rent an extra lens for that week. I have a 50mm f 1.8, and a 24-120mm f 3.5. It would be fun to have a couple extra lenses for that week to capture all of our moments!!! I can never have enough photos!!!
