Conservatory of Flowers Valentines Day Lighting in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
It’s been a while since I’ve photographed the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, but this past Valentines Day I was able to stop by and was pleasantly surprised to see the dome of the building glowing a fitting color. I wonder if they’ll make lighting of the dome a regular occurance like the lighting of the Empire State Building in New York city. Either way it was fun to see this historic building lit up in such a festive manner.

Jim –
Since I haven’t been there yet, do they allow tripods inside the building?

@Ivan Odds are that tripods are not allowed. The walkways are not very wide and there can be a great deal of foot traffic depending on the day that you go. Be prepared for using a high ISO and hand holding. In addition the interior of the Conservatory of Flowers is warm and humid. This will translate to a fogged up lens when you first enter. For that reason pre-warm (if possible) or wait for your lens to warm up when you enter. It would be a good idea to bring a lens cloth as well in case you get impatient and want to start taking photos immediately. I hope the info helps.
