Take the 2009 Photographer Social Media Survey
On October 22nd, 2009 I will be taking part in a panel discussion, Twitter Revolution: Changing the Photographic World, 140 Characters at a Time, at Photo Plus Expo with Seshu Badrinath, Taylor Davidson, Jack Hollingsworth and Rosh Sillars.
As part of this discussion I’m looking to compile data on how photographers are currently using and receiving benefit from social media web sites such as Twitter, Facebook and others. To accomplish this I’ve put together the following survey:
2009 Photographer Social Media Survey
Estimated time of completion – 5-10 minutes
I invite you to take part in this survey and to spread word of it to other photo communities and photography trade organizations. Data compiled from this survey will be shared upon its completion to all who are interested.
Thanks for your interest, participation and word of mouth efforts.

Just a heads-up to people: it's a “Twitter” survey, rather than social media; if you don't use Twitter you're just going to click “I don't have an account” multiple times, so you might want to skip this one. I bailed after the fifth or sixth such question.

Actually the intent is for Social Media and while it starts off on Twitter its essential that even if you don't use Twitter you complete the survey. The intent is to see if you're not using Twitter what you are using and why.
Not everyone uses Twitter and if you're not I'm looking to compile data on what is or is not working for you in its place.
I hope that clarifies the early emphasis.

It is wider than twitter, but in places very 'black and white' with compulsory yes/no questions where maybe or don't know might also be appropriate answers.
and it is more about twitter than other social media

It's definitely a Twitter survey. Wonder if it's on behalf of Twitter — from my experience, Twitter is the least useful social media site when it comes to developing income. I mean Flickr is the new “unlimited submit all you want” front door to Getty, for Pete's sake. And that's because so many image researchers troll Flickr looking for work.

Thanks for the comment Ryan. This is an independent survey run by no one but myself. The survey is to evaluate current social media behavior starting with Twitter. The discussion panel I'm taking part in at Photo Plus Expo focuses on Twitter, but I'm looking to round out the discussion by showing other social media trends based on actual photographer trends.
