Chris Anderson kick-started the discussion of Free as a business strategy in early 2008 with his Wired article Free! Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business. His previous book the “Long Tail” received rave reviews and has become a must read for many in marketing and business development. The Long Tail explores the combination of market forces and newly available digital technologies creating revenue opportuni
This week I’m trying out a new camera bag, the Think Tank Shape Shifter. I’ve posted a video of part 1 of my review (see below). I wanted to see how much this shape shifting back could really hold and what better way to test that than by moving gear from my very full Lowepro Vertex 200 AW camera backpack to it. So far so good. I’ll give the bag a run for its money, adjusting what I keep in it, for
It seems like only yesterday that I first reviewed the camera in the original iPhone “Apple iPhone Camera Review: The One Thing Apple Isn’t Hyping“. At the time of the iPhone release 3 years ago I was not terribly impressed with the quality of the digital camera with in the phone and my opinion didn’t change with the lack of camera upgrade in the iPhone 3G. As part of the iPhone 3G S release the cam
Last night the getMETAsmart seminar was held here in San Francisco and I was really impressed with it. I know what you’re thinking a seminar on metadata sounds like a real snoozefest, but the information shared by the likes of David Riecks, David Sanger and Grover Sanschagrin was incredibly informative. The first time I attended I took part in Track 2, the more advanced of the two tracks offered, with Jeff Schewe, John Paul Caponigro, Mac Holbert and Greg Gorman. This year I again took part in Track 2 led by Jeff Schewe, Mac Holbert and Andrew Rodney. I wasn’t sure how much I’d pick up
Just when you thought you’ve read or heard every review on the new Nikon D3X someone has released a video titled “Hitler Rants About D3X“. No matter brand you stand behind this is sure to make you laugh. Enjoy. [tags]Nikon, D3X, video, YouTube, digital, photography[/tags]
I’m a bit overdue in my review of Digital Railroad and PhotoShelter… so overdue in fact my review will cover how each of these services died rather than what they offered photographers. Both PhotoShelter Collection and Digital Railroad aimed at bucking the trends of the traditional photo stock market giving more to photographers on each sale. Unfortunately for both of these companies they were not positio
