The clock is ticking on this years Mavericks surf competition. The time frame for the prestigious surf competition is between early January and the end of March. Only a couple storms have pass through northern California generating big enough surf for the event, but these swells did not align with favorable weather. With only a month remaining it leaves big wave surfing fans wondering if there will be a competition
This year I made my yearly pilgrimage to Macworld to take photos of the latest offering by Apple, Inc. (formerly Apple Computers, Inc.). As part of their announcement the company has changed its name as it expands into product offerings well beyond computers. Icer Air 2006 was incredibly fun to see and photograph this year. I posted a couple photo highlights from the event in my earlier blog post, Icer Air 2006 Highlights, on November 6th. Today I’ve released th first episode of “EXIF and Beyond”, an enhanced podcast with a behind the camera perspective. My hope is that on some of my photo assignments I’ll be able to share a little of my thinking, approach, technique and/or background to a particular photograph. As I like to say… speak to the fore-thought, after-thought and everything in between of a photograph. Click here
This past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph Icer Air 2006. It was quite different than last years Icer Air, but still very entertaining! I took way too many photos, but already have a few favorites (see below). Later I’ll post more photos including some harrowing wipe outs.
